In Psalm 5, David takes his groaning, his cries and directs them to God in prayer. “I will direct my prayer to you and watch.” (Psalm 5:3b)
This was our first foray into chant. To sing this psalm we used the ESV translation (©2016 Crossway) with a chant tone from Psalms for All Seasons (©2011 Faith Alive Christian Resources). The opening and closing refrain is a traditional Psalm 5 antiphon from The Plainsong Psalter (©1988 The Church Pension Fund).

Psalm 119 is an acrostic prayer song celebrating God's word. Psalm 119 was written as 22 eight verse stanzas, one for each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
