Special is what God does. That’s the message of Exodus 2. The chapter begins with mothers: one biological, one adoptive and one surrogate all working together given the birth of Moses. Due to Pharaoh’s decree of death for Hebrew baby boys, his biological mother had to hide him because she “saw something special about him.” She hid him for three months to protect him, but when hiding him was no longer possible, she put him in a covered basket and placed it and him in the Nile River, but more importantly into the hands of God. Something special and amazing was poised to take place.
