Highs and lows, wins and losses pepper the life of the prophet Elijah. He has defeated the prophets of Baal and longed to see Israel return to the Lord their God. Jezebel, Israel’s murderous Queen had other plans. She plays on the emotional fragility of Elijah and causes the prophet to flee Israel altogether. It looks like Elijah has given up, let go, left his ministry position, and resigned his fight for the Lord. At the lowest of his life God speaks from the soft wind and as only God can, God calls him back to a place of renewal, revival, and reassignment.
