What is a Birthday Bag? A Birthday Bag contains the basics for a birthday party at home - cake, candles, balloons! This is our VBS Mission Project and we ask the kids to put a Birthday Bag(s) together as a family and bring in during the week. Anyone in the church is also welcome to participate! How it works: In August, we take the bags to the GCS Food Pantry. When people arrive for assistance, they provide their driver’s license or ID. If their birthday is coming up, they are given a Birthday Bag along with the bag of food. Have FUN with this project! We’ve provided a list of basic items for the bag. You can do a generic bag for adults or children or specific to a boy or girl. Most items can be picked up at the Dollar Tree. The Basics: Gift Bag, Cake Mix, Frosting, Birthday Candles, Balloons, Ribbon and oil if the cake mix calls for it, couple sheets of tissue paper Optional Items if you want to add something else: Birthday Banner, Party Hats, Crepe paper streamers, noise makers, cups, plates, napkins, plastic tablecloth, etc.
