Scott Family

Japan

Thank you so very much for all your prayers and support for our family over here in Japan. God has blessed us in so many different ways and we know that in large part it is due to all of your prayers. We also have some great news to share with everyone and so I’m excited to give this update.

March was a very busy month for our family here in Japan. The fiscal year ends here in April. And so, everyone is normally very busy in March. The school year has ended. and there are conferences and camps that are taking place. In March we had the Bible conference and the youth conference that took place. The Bible conference was at the Bible college here in Kobe. I’m thankful for all the pastors and missionaries who were able to come and attend the conference. It was a time of wonderful fellowship and preaching. God blessed the youth conference as well. The conference went on for three days, and during that time there were many wonderful decisions that were made, including one young lady who accepted Christ as her Savior.

In April, like everyone else, we had a wonderful time celebrating our Lord’s resurrection. I am thankful that we have had members return on Easter and have continued to attend services since that service. A father

of one of our faithful church attendees began attending church on Easter and has been faithful to every service since. Please pray that he accepts Christ as his Savior as we believe God is working on his heart. Also in March, we held our last Kids English Time. We are so thankful for how God has blessed that time with many visitors and many opportunities to share the gospel with people who have never been in church before. For our last meeting we had 11 kids attend as well as their parents. God has been good to us!

Here are a couple of prayer requests that we have. If you would, continue to pray for Iwata and her husband as they grow as new Christians. Also please pray for the father that has been attending regularly to our services. Also, please continue to pray for the building project taking place at our church here in Kobe. Construction will start in July. There are so many meetings that we will have with the architect, and we are praying that things will go smoothly.

We also have some wonderful news. The Lord has been working on our hearts about stepping out and starting our first church. Our family has officially decided to move up to Hirosaki at the end of summer. Our plan is to start our first church there. I, James, will be taking some trips up to the city to search for a house. Please pray that we can find one. Also pray that we can find a place to hold church services. Japan is not cheap. These things will cost some money. Please pray as we try to gather some funds to accomplish what we believe God wants us to do. Once again, thank you all for all your prayers and support for our family.
