Today, I want to explore the nature of God. In particular, I want to understand the character of the God who led our people from slavery to freedom, and the God who continues to provide hope, and inspiration, and power for us today. As we read the story of the Israelites while they were under Pharaoh’s rule, we learn that God is with those of us who are oppressed. He is with us when we are being treated unkindly and unfairly. He is with us as we struggle and as we hurt. Even when we feel like the underdog, God is rooting for us, helping us, and walking with us so that we might overcome whatever obstacles we face on this earth.
