SUMMER BOOK GROUP

"Everything Sad Is Untrue" by Daniel Nayeri

July 14 - August 31, 2022

Hi Mosaic-ers! Are you looking for the perfect summer read AND a chance to chat about different cultural ideas around faith, great storytelling, who God is, refugees from the Middle East, baklava, and maybe even...poop? Join other Mosaic-ers in reading "Everything Sad Is Untrue" by Daniel Nayeri. This book is the fantastic story of Daniel's experience coming from Iran to Oklahoma as a refugee (told from his memories in middle school), along with the history of his lineage - his parents, grandparents and great-grandparents and Persian folklore. Throughout the book are underlying themes of love, sacrifice and faith. I highly recommend the audiobook version (I listened to it...twice in six months), it's great listening for a long road trip (and kid-appropriate!), doing yard work, soaking up the sun, etc. We'll meet up in mid/late August to talk about what we thought of the book and what we learned - all ages welcome! Use the contact info below if you have questions.
