Celebrating in Color - Week 1 of 4

A Weekly Contemplative Practice Throughout Advent

November 29, 2022
12:00 - 1:00pm

Did you know that coloring can be a form of prayer? The spiritual practice of coloring mandalas (circular designs) can help you slow down, become attentive to God, and experience the freedom that God desires for everybody. You are invited to participate in Celebrating in Color, a 4-week Advent series to engage the body, mind, and spirit through the gift of creative, contemplative coloring of mandalas inspired by Advent wreaths. Led by spiritual director and Heartpaths DFW faculty member, Shawn Ashmore, this is a continuation of each Sunday's scripture passages and Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Supplies will be provided for those in person unless you choose to bring your own. Registration is required for this event so that we can provide the correct amount of supplies. It does not matter whether or not you consider yourself an artist, a mystic, a contemplative, or a creative. If you are looking for an alternative, tangible prayer practice, and are longing to deepen your relationship with God during Advent, then please join us. You will leave each week with a visual prayer and a piece of art that is your own! Will you join others in prayerful anticipation of the Light of the world that is born in our hearts? Gatherings will be held on Tuesdays from 12:00pm-1:00pm in the Library beginning November 29 and concluding December 20.
