God provides even in the heart of scarcity. Our challenge is to trust God when we find ourselves “one scoop from empty.” The famine that Elijah predicted impacted not only Ahab and the prophets of Ba’al, but everybody who dwelt in the land, including the prophet himself. Yet God faithfully provided for the prophet, albeit through unexpected and unusual means. This offers an incredible comfort to us as we trust God—God will always come through.
