If you work directly with people as a faith leader or volunteer, this training is for you! You will learn how to recognize risk factors and warning signs of suicide and how to have conversations that could save and strengthen lives. Also learn simple ways to make sermons, prayer, worship, small groups, and events soul-safe for your entire faith community and those seeking safe places for support and belonging. The first people to recognize someone might need to have a conversation about suicide, even before telling a mental health professional, are: -clergy & pastors -small group leaders -youth workers -prayer & welcome teams -food bank & care teams -family & friends, etc. -safety & security teams Bring your staff or a friend and help make our faith communities soul safe for everyone! ARRIVAL: This in-person training workshop starts promptly at 9am, arrive early to check in, grab materials & coffee, and find a seat. There will not be a virtual training option.
