Week 2: Sin

October 10, 2021

In this video for Forgiving Challenge: A 40-Day Journey Leading to Freedom, and Author Zach Zehnder visits a massive landfill to help us understand what sin is. He reminds us that every one of us miss the mark. As inventive, creative, and successful as humans can be in many aspects of life, the only way to overcome our sin is through Jesus. Zach opens up the story of how Peter failed Jesus, but how any failure is simply an opportunity for the grace of Jesus to appear again and again and again.

Week 6: Sanctification

November 7, 2021

In this video for Forgiving Challenge: A 40-Day Journey Leading to Freedom, and Author Zach Zehnder visits a historic church in St. Augustine, FL. God’s forgiveness has paid the penalty we should have paid and He has fully restored us to live a life of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. Sadly, though, many never step into the new life that Jesus has offered. True freedom is experienced through sanctification, when we step up into the calling that Jesus has given to us. Zach tells us how Peter’s story ends. In Peter, we see a man who truly lived the free life.

Week 5: Restoration

October 31, 2021

In this video for Forgiving Challenge: A 40-Day Journey Leading to Freedom, and Author Zach Zehnder visits the historic fort in St. Augustine, FL to teach us an important truth about God’s restorative work. Not only has Jesus paid the price for our sin by dying on the cross, but He also is not angry towards us. He wants the best for us. He seeks to fully restore us. As Zach opens up #Chapter89, we see that Jesus is hyper-focused on not only pointing Peter towards the future, but restoring the original call He placed on his life.

Week 4: Absolution

October 24, 2021

In this video for Forgiving Challenge: A 40-Day Journey Leading to Freedom, and Author Zach Zehnder visits his favorite BBQ restaurant to teach us about the grace of Jesus. Zach reminds us that the death of Jesus on the cross canceled the debt of all sin, of all-time, of all humankind. Amazingly, charcoal only comes up twice in all of the Bible. Both have to deal with Peter. In #Chapter89, Jesus cooks a meal over a charcoal fire for Peter. After this meal, Jesus reminds Peter that He is unafraid to enter into his worst moments with him, and that His grace is big enough to cover the worst of us.
