Spring Equipping Class: Growing and Equipping in the Fundamentals of the Faith

Class dates: March 3, 10, 24, 31, April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26 Class Description: We are excited to introduce this foundational course to Equipping Format. This course is for everyone! Its purpose is to help you to grow in your spiritual journey and also to provide the foundation for you to equip others in their journey of becoming a disciple that makes disciples. It provides new believers with the rock solid theological foundation. It helps more mature Christians sharpen their understanding of key doctrines and equip them for evangelism and discipleship. It produces Unity based on a shared understanding of God's truth. March 3 - Lesson 1/Session 1: Introduction to the Bible: We will begin explaining natural and special revelation including the origin of the Bible. Wee will give a brief overview of the Bible structure and the basic content of each book. We will also do a General survey of the Old Testament March 10 - Lesson 1/Session 2: Introduction To the Bible: We will present the main themes of the Bible, Jesus Christ: his glory, and the plan of salvation. We will also do a general survey of the new testament. March 24 - Lesson 1/Session 3: We will present the Bible’s claim to be the inspired Word of God. Diving into the meaning of ‘inspiration’ and the believability of the Bible. March 31 - Lesson 2/Session 1: How to know the Bible: We will discuss five compelling reasons for knowing God's word: grow, defeating sin, preparing for service, to be blessed, and to help others. April 7 - Lesson 2/Session 2: Inductive Bible study: We will do an introduction to the formal rules of Hermeneutics. Yes of course will include the Basic inductive method of preparation, observation, interpretation, and Application. We will be looking at the historical grammatical and cultural nature and context in order to understand what the original writers meant to say. April 14 - Lesson 3/Session 1: God: His character. We will look at and develop an understanding of God and his glory. This lesson will touch on the questions concerning the Trinity and why an all powerful and all loving God allows suffering in the world? April 21 - Lesson 3/Session 2: God: His Attributes We will be providing the students a full understanding of God's attributes so they may offer him truer and more honoring. We will be answering questions like, If God is sovereign, why doesn't He keep people from going to Hell? April 28 - Lesson 4/Session 1: The Person of Jesus Christ: God & Man We will be discussing the incarnation, humanity and true divinity Jesus. We will answer questions like can Jesus be both 100% man and 100% God at the same time? May 6 - Lesson 4/Session 2: The person of Jesus Christ: Savior and king We will be discussing Jesus Christ as savior and how he brought salvation to mankind. We will also look at the expectation of Christ as king in the second coming of Christ along with the personal application of these two titles. May 13 - Lesson 5/Session 1: The work of Christ: In this lesson, we will be discussing Man's need for a savior. And the need of the provision of Christ through his crucifixion and resurrection the work of the cross. May 20 - Lesson 5/Session 2: The work of Christ: We will continue discussing Man's need for a savior. And the need of the provision of Christ through his crucifixion and resurrection the work of the cross May 27 - Lesson 6/Session 1: Salvation: We will be discussing the sovereignty of God, man's responsibility, the conversion process as well as the evidence of genuine salvation.
