Women's Art Workshop

9:00 AM

June 5, 2021
9:00am - 12:00pm

What doesn’t kill you makes you ___. Wow. So many words to fill in that blank. In this workshop, we will explore both the negative and the positive words that fill us. How our struggles shape us, and even ask God the big question, like, why. We are definitely not who we were a mere 52 weeks ago, but we are exactly who we were meant to be.  In his most fearful and darkest hour, Peter denied Jesus three times, only to have a resurrected Christ ask him three times, “do you love me?” There’s no shame if we’ve fallen in this past year. Doubt? Anger? Frustration? Fear? Hopelessness? Worry? It’s only in retrospect where we see Jesus Himself has held us up.  Scripture tells us His ways are not our ways, His thoughts, not our thoughts. Let’s spend some time with the great I AM and find strength for the days to come.  You will hear stories and be introduced to several art techniques which will help you create a visual piece that will, hopefully, inspire you. Set aside any preconceived notions about artistic capabilities, for that is not what this is about. It is a mini-Sabbath, a time to put your heart on canvas, all its darkness and all its light. No artistic skills required. Sign-up by May 15th to attend.  Cost: $15 (includes all materials, instructions and beverages) - please bring payment to the event. NOTE: If you have signed up and are unable to attend, you are still responsible to pay and the materials will be given to you.
