Fall Groups at Open Life

Join a group this fall

October 9 - December 10, 2022

This fall, Open Life wants to spur on genuine community within our church by creating micro groups of 3-4 individuals or families. The focus of the groups will be genuine conversation related to our lives with the opportunity to talk about prayer (which is also the focus of our fall message series). Everything else is optional. Maybe it makes sense to meet over a meal or at a coffee shop. For some it makes sense to meet as individuals or families. Some groups might meet early in the morning or some in the evening, some during the day while their kids are in school. The location and time of these groups will be determined by those participating in the group. When you fill out this form you'll answer just a few questions about your schedule and the desired makeup of your group and then we will put you in contact with other people who have a similar schedule. Recommended structure for 3-4 families (80 - 90 Minutes): 20-30 Minutes: Share a meal or snack together (rotate who prepares from week to week or share the responsibility each week) 20-30 Minutes: Go through the 3-4 questions provided on the outline of Sunday's message. 10 minutes: Share something that each person is praying for and take time to pray for one another. Recommended structure for 3-4 individuals (60 - 70 Minutes): 10-15 minutes: Meet over coffee/tea 20-30 minutes: Go through the 3-4 questions provided on the outline of Sunday's message. 10 minutes: Share something that each person is praying for and take time to pray for one another. FAQ: Q: Why are the groups so small? A: It's easier to coordinate the schedules of 3 groups of people and we want to maximize the number of people who can participate within our church. Q: Who will be the leader of my group? A: Because there will only be 3-4 individuals or families and the main focus being genuine conversation, there will not be a set "leader." Q: How does this work if I have children? A: We're going to embrace the grace of having kids. If families are meeting, then the times and location will be kid-friendly for kids to be present. Q: I am not married or my spouse is not able to participate this fall, what should I do? A: You should still sign up as an individual if it's just you who will be in the group, or as a family if your kids will still be joining you.
