In loving memory of Julian Kamugisha, a radiant soul who graced our lives with joy, kindness, and boundless love. Born on December 16th, 2001, at Nsambya Hospital in Uganda, Julian's journey through life was marked by warmth and a generous spirit. From the tender age of 2.2 years, Julian started school at Sunrise Kajjansi on Entebbe Road. At the age of 5, the Byamugisha family relocated to the UK – East London, where Julian continued his schooling at Curwen Primary School. In 2009, fate smiled upon the family, winning the Green Card Lottery, and they migrated to the United States, settling in Aurora, Colorado. Julian's educa􀆟onal path led him through Mission Viejo Elementary, Meadow Point, Falcon Creek, and Grand View High School & College. Julian's nurturing spirit extended beyond helping to raise his own siblings to embracing friends' children and the broader community. Affectionately his baby brother Joel nicknamed him "Hands on Dad". He devoted some of his free time to Colorado Community Church, where he played a pivotal role in the children's ministry department. Passionate about basketball, the gym, and swimming, Julian found joy in the company of his siblings, cousins, and friends. His heart belonged to Africa, especially Uganda, where he enjoyed every trip, finding it difficult to part ways because of his deep connection to the country and the people there. Fluent in at least three local languages, Runyankore, Rukiga, and Luganda, Julian effortlessly connected with everyone. It always saddened Julian to meet children who had lost their parents. Together with his mother, he co-founded an orphanage project in Uganda - Joy Smiles Outreach which he hoped would provide a safe heaven for those children. It was with a great deal of generosity and selflessness that he always reached out to less fortunate communi􀆟es. His volunteer work in downtown Denver involved feeding the homeless. Julian's genuine smile and unwavering love remain etched in our hearts. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the memories of his 21 years on this earth will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him. As a firstborn child, a brother, uncle, and friend, Julian's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that he so generously shared with the world.
