Lent is an invitation to encounter the refreshment of the Lord in the aridness of the desert.

Far from being rigid or legalistic, Lent is an invitation into the transformation of God’s renewing presence. It reminds us, no matter how far we have strayed or distant we may feel, that we can always return to the Lord and there find our true home and place of lasting peace.

“In returning and rest you shall be saved” (Isaiah 30:15).

From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture is filled with stories of leaving and returning.

The people of God are often depicted as fickle and easily unsatisfied, at one moment living in intimate union with the Lord only to turn away from this source of life in the name of “freedom” or “autonomy,” believing it to be for their good. And though the names and details are specific to the Bible, this pattern is universal, speaking directly to our lives today.

In Return you will dive deep into these themes of repentance and renewal. You will be invited to explore the forgotten corners of your heart, the places that rarely see the light of day due to the fear, shame, and guilt that lurks in the shadows. Intimidating as this may seem, it is a deeply hopeful journey!

Through daily Scripture readings, devotional reflections, inspirational quotes, and practical points of application, you will be encouraged to hold fast to the hope within you, believing that change is possible and that you can always return to the Lord, no matter how far you have strayed or how distant you feel.

This Lent, you are invited to embrace the struggle and encounter the refreshment of the Lord in the aridness of the desert.
